Lavender is distilled using the ‘dry steam’ method, meaning the plant material is not immersed in water during distillation. The lavender flower heads are sealed into a large stainless steel drum. Steam is slowly piped into the drum with minimal pressure to keep the temperatures as low as possible. This method produces the highest quality hydrosol.
This is perfect for anyone suffering from personal itch, rashes and/or irritations, it cools and sooths in the most gentle way, spray directly on to problem areas for instant cooling and relief. Good for sunburn and sun damage. Gentle enough for children.
Can be used for pets too!
3.2 oz complete Bottle and Hydrosol.
Uses for Lavender Hydrosol
Lavender hydrosol contains a minute amount of essential oil plus the water-soluble parts of the lavender plant. It can be used in much the same way as the essential oil.
eMist on your face as a cleanser or toner
ePour a bit into your bath, both for relaxation and a dry skin remedy
eSpritz on your pillow case before you go to sleep
eSpray on your linens when you iron
eUse as a natural, non-chemical room deodorizer
NOTE: Please remember to store your precious hydrosols under refrigeration. True, natural hydrosol contain no preservatives so should be treated as perishable. We store them under refrigeration, and do our best to maintain sterility while re-bottling, however if you plan on using any of these healing waters internally, we suggest you pasteurize them before use. Filtering through a fine filter (a coffee filter works beautifully) and slowly heating just to a very slow boil should insure sterility without damaging the healing elements.
